MUSEUM SKETCH CLUB

Nearly 100 sketches and water colour paintings, many of which reveal a keen sense of colour interpretation, are on view at the exhibition of the Museum Sketch Club, which was opened yesterday afternoon by Mr. \V, A." Fairplough, president- of the Auckland Institute and Museum. The work, which is all done by children from Auckland primary and secondary schools, is the result of about six weeks' efforts and shows variation and originality in both subject and execution. In a short address the art instructor, Miss .J. Fdwards, said-the attendance at the classes had exceeded all expectations and it was hoped to continue the gatherings once a week during the coming school holidays. The exhibition will continue for 10 davs.
