LADY CLIFFORD 'O.C.) CntUSTCHURCH, Thursday 'I he death has occurred at her home at Suninei of Lady Clifford, widow of the late Sir George Clifford, who died in 19.50. Formerly Miss Helena Dennis, a daughter of the Rev. G. Dennis, she was the third wife of the baronet. 'I heir marriage took place in 1891. Lady Clifford maintained keen interest in tin* racing world, in which her husband was one of the best-know n figures in the Dominion. She is survived by three daughters. MR. O. LAURENSON 'O.C.) 'l'K Kl'lTr, Thursday The death has occurred of Mr. Gilbert Laurenson, aged 75, farmer, of To Ma para. Horn in Olago, Mr. Laurenson spent his youth in Samoa, where he helped to build the home of t,bo late Robert Louis Stevenson, with whom lie became acquainted. Love of travel led him eventually to take up seafaring and trading in (he Islands, lie ,vas acquainted will) the famous South Seas pirate, Hayes, of whom he could recountsome wild escapades.
