CARRIERS' CHARGES
LAPSE OF SCHEDULES Although the charge schedules for carriers in the North and South Auckland areas, with the exception of the liuy ol Plenty district, have not applied for about three months, an official of the Auckland Provincial Farmers' Lnion said yesterday that some carriers were still demanding the charges provided for under the schedules. The i'r ansport Department stated thai an appeal had been made against the schedules, and that the; .Minister ol J ransport, the Hon. U. Semple, had referred the matter back to the No. 1 Transport Licensing Authority, this automatically causing the schedules to lapse. A hearing was conducted for the North Auckland area before Christmas, but the decision has not yet been given
