OBITUARY
MR. EDWARD J. DREW ; The death lias occurred of Mr. Kdwnrd I .lames Drew, aged 87, of Summer Street. Devon port. Mr. Drew, who was ; a member of a family of builders, was burn in Hiyhworih. near Southampton. I Both his father and grandfather i'ol- | lowed the building trade. Arriving in I New Zealand in the sailing ship Chris- ! tian McAnsland, which arrived at Port i Chalmers on September -L 1872, Mr. Drew, who was then aged 1!'. carried jon business as a carpenter. Three j years after his arrival he was married I iu Timaru, after which he worked in various towns m the South Island before ! taking up residence in Devonport •">() years ago. He retired in 1011. He is survived bv tour daughters and tour sons, his wife having died in 1928.
