"THE MEN IN CAMP"
Sir. —May I he permitted to comment on the article which appeared in your Saturday's issue under the caption "The Men in Camp."
The article may convoy the erroneous impression that the men who entered camp last week are conscripts. Such is far from being the case, as, by far the greatest proportion of men are volunteers, many of whom have been waiting for periods up to 12 months for the call to camp. It is very distasteful to men who have voluntarily made the sacrifices entailed in closing a civilian life to bo classed as conscripts. I leel sure that all ranks encamped here will he grateful if this letter is given publicity. Gunnkb,
