RETURNED SOLDIERS
PLANNING ASSISTANCE NEW LEAGUE FORMED A meeting of returned invalided soldiers of tlie 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force was held on Friday evening, when it was decided to form a new organisation to be called "The Returned Sick and Wounded League of the 2nd N.Z.E.F." Corporal G. Turner presided, and explained that the object of the league would be to assist to the limit resources all sick and wounded soldiers domiciled in .the Auckland district as they return from overseas. He said that a number of Auckland firms had already expressed their willingness to assist financially, and that Mr. M. JMoodabe had offered the use of the Tivoli Theatre for Sunday evening concerts. It was decided to hold "tlie first concert there on Sunday, January and to arrange other concerts and social functions as a means of raising funds. The following trustees _ wore ap* pointed to control the banking account that is to be opened: —Corporal u. Turner, and Messrs. F. C. A. prison and K. V, Morrish. Mr. E. Martin tra« appointed organiser and Mr. E. ■ Morrish sccrotarv-trensurer. A further jae* cision taken was to secure suitable office accommodation when this is considered necessary.
