CHAPEL WEDDING
EBBS—FINCH BRIDE'S MARQUISETTE GOWN The wedding took place quietly at the Mariner's Chapel of St. Peter, Sturdee Street, on Saturday afternoon, of Miss June Patricia Finch, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Finch, Castle Drive, Epsom, and Mr. John Montague Ebbs, only son of Mr. and \irs. E. H. Ebbs, Basingstoke, Hampshire, Kngland. The Rev*. H. K. Vickery performed the ceremony and Mr. Mitchell played the wedding music. During the service a solo was sung by_ Mr. Gordon Fagan. The bridegroom is an officer in the Merchant Navy. The bride, who was given away bv her father, wore a simple gown of white hand-drawn marquisette trimmed with Valenciennes lace and crystal buttons, the skirt being fashioned on graceful Victorian lines. - The tulle veil, which was worn over the bride's face as she entered the church, was caught with a halo of orange blossom. The bride carried a sheaf of gladioli, sweetpeas and blue delphiniums. The bridegroom was attended by one of his fellow-officers, Mr. M. G. Clounan, as best man. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Star Hotel. The bride travelled later in a sage_green and petunia ensemble and a toning hat. CEREMONY AT CAMBRIDGE SEMPSON—VOESFvE The wedding took place at St. Paul's Methodist Church, Cambridge, on the evening of November 21, of Miss Elsie Joyce Volske, elder daughter of Mr. A. W. Volske, Stratford, and Private Hoy Albert Simpson, of the Fourth Reinforcements, only son of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Simpson, of Cambridge. The Rev. G. Goodwin officiated, and Mr. G. Vinall, Cambridge, was the organist. The bride, who was given awav by Mr. L. Walsh, Hamilton, wore a teal blue ensemble with a bolero finished with Swiss embroidery. She wore a toal blue hat with cyclamen flower trimming and carried a bouquet of white roses tied with cyclamen velvet ribbon.
The brids also wore a gold locket and chain, the gift of the bridegroom. Miss Elsie Simpson, sister of the bridegroom, was in attendance a.s bridesmaid. She wore a frock of cyclamen satin-backed moracain, with navy accessories and carried a bouquet, of pale pink roses. Sapper Joseph Kelly, of the Fourth Reinforcements and formerly of Cambridge, acted as best man. Immediate relatives of the bride and bridegroom attended the reception at the home of the bridegroom's parents. To receive her guests. Mrs. Simftson wore a brown suit with toning accessories and carried a bouquet of gold roses. The bout) nets carried at the wedding were the gift of Mrs. Levesque. aunt of the bridegroom. The bride travelled in a dusky pink frock of Hollywood cre]>e, with navy accessories.
