KAWAU REGATTA
Attracting a law number of visitors, including several hundred from Warkworth and. Matakana on the mainland, a successful regatta was held off Mansion House Bay, Kawau, during the week-end. The regatta, which was organised by Mrs. E. M. Silk, Captain J. McKinnon and Mr. G. M. Dennis, was in aid of patriotic funds. The yacht Morewa. belonging to Sir Ernest Davis, Mayor of Auckland, acted as flagship: A similar function has been arranged fur New \ears Dav at Schoolhouse Bay. Kawau. when proceeds will also be donated to patriotic funds. Results of events were as follows:—Silver Fern class: Electra (Mr. R. Wilson); 3; Trkha (Mr. M. Sheffield), 2;. Ajax (Mr. T. Alien), 3. Ladies' scratch race: Electra (Miss P. Hutchison), l: Trisha (Miss C Hutchison), 2; A|ax (Miss X. Gordon), 3. Ladies' handicap* race: Silver Fern (Miss J. Reeves), 1; Hardy ("Mrs. B. Silk), 2; Aloha (Mrs. C. P. Crespin), 3. . Officials in charge were Captain J. McKinnon and Messrs. D. Davis and G. Al. Dennis.
