ITALY AND BALKANS GESTURE BY TURKEY OFFER TO BULGARIA (Received December 27, 9.30 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. -20 Well-informed persons in Belgrade,. Yugoslavia, said that three divisions of German troops entered Italy, on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday by rail through the Brenner and Tarvisio Passes. The troops comprised two mechanised and one infantry division, consisting of Alpinists, believed to be destined lor Albania. It is said also that one complete German division is now arriving at Timisoara. Rumania, where it can be stationed, A Budapest message says witnesses report an intensification of German transport across Hungary. For three days trains have been passing every hour, loaded with all types of equipment for big-scale activities. Diplomatic circles in Budapest state that the Germans now in Rumania may total 500,000. It is estimated in Hungary that 3'iO.Ono Russians are on the alert on the Bessarabian border. A despatch from Bucharest says the Rumanian police are reported to be investigating two 'train accidents, in which '.seven people were killed and scores injured. Sabotage is suspected. Lite Rumanian radwavs are carrving an especially heavy volume of traffic as a result of German military trains moving in from Hungary in great numbers. The- Ankara radio, in appealing for the formation of 'a united league of Balkan peoples, said that Turkey was willing to place all her harbours at the disposal- of- Bulgaria. The announcer added that- the first condition attaching to membership of the league would he recognition of the inviolability of frontiers.
