BRISK CHRISTMAS TRADE
[by telegraph —OWN correspondent] WELLINGTON, Friday Shopkeepers to-day paid Wellington people the tribute of having been good spenders this Christmas. Although the unfavourable change in the weather on Christmas Eve affected the trade oil that day, representatives of retail businesses from whom inquiries were made agreed without exception that sales up to this point were good. All appeared to be well satisfied with the results, especially in view of the fact that ths Dominion is at war and supplies of certain imported lines have I been reduced.
