GAMES IN AUCKLAND BRABIN CUP FIXTURE WELLINGTON TEAM'S SUCCESS .Matches under the control of the Auckland Cricket Association were continued at Eden Park and the Domain yesterday in ideal conditions, and the visiting country players returned some good figures with both the hat and the ball. The Brabin Cup game at Eden Park ended in a win for Wellington on the first innings, Auckland thereinlosing the trophy. Auckland scored only 42 in its first innings, to which Wellington replied with 166. In the second innings Auckland declared with nine wickets down for runs, and at stumps Wellington had lost iour wickets for 143 runs. Keen play was witnessed at the Domain, where the Country Week tourney for the Hellaby Shield was continued. Playing for Hamilton against Ex-servicemen, J. Aitken retired after scoring 112. T. Cleave, playing for Thames, was unlucky not to reach his century, being caught at 90 when attempting a big hit. Suburban Colls proved too stroll).' for the A.C.A. colts, winning on the first innings by S'i runs. Hellabv Shield. —Hamilton. 2120 for three wickets, declared, beat Ex-servicemen, 135 and 38 for nine wickets, on the first innings; Pnkekohe, 208, beat Thames. 4.-> and lit for seven wickets, on the first innings; Auckland B. 300, drew with Rodney, 141 for eight wickets.
