A Gay Garden

TjEAR ANNE SHIRLEY,—I want to tell you about my flower garden. It is gay with,, bright, fragrant flowers. It has two wire netting fences, which, at present are very beautiful with sweet peas. One of these fences has pink sweet peas and the other a collection of selected varieties. (I bought them from the school Sweet Pea Club.) My pansies came out at the end of July, and they have been flowering well ever since. Some are the most unusual colours. There are white ones, black ones, reds, purples, yellows and blues in the least purple) and, of course, ever so many patchy-coloured ones. I had nemesias, but they ate finished now. My schizanthus are almost finished, but my wallflowers and snapdragons are just out. Yours sincerely, Mary Hyland (17), Dargaville.
