Candy Recipe
Butter-Scotch Candy—Four cups brown sugar, two cups butter, little soda, two tablespoons water, vinegar to taste. Boil for half an hour. Drop a teaspoon in a little water. If crisp it is done. —By Patricia Higgie (12).
Novel Game
A novel game is one in which you place in small boxes or dark coloured bottles little hits of onion, apple, potato, or any vegetable or fruit. Make sure that these are not seen. Number each bottle or box A, B, C, and so on. Provide competitor with pencil and paper, labelled A, B. C, etc. nen each box or bottle is passed round, say A box has inside it onion, then on the paper opposite to A the competitor writes onion. Whoever guesses tne smells correctly receives a prize. —From Tory Julian
