CROSSING COLLISION
CAR TOTALLY WRECKED OCCUPANTS ESCAPE LIGHTLY [bt telegraph—OWN correspondent] HUNTLY, Sunday A narrow escape from serious injury was experienced bv the occupants of a small motor-car which collided with a train while jiroceeding from Huntly West to Huntly at about 3 o'clock on Saturday afternoon. On reaching the railway crossing which passes over tie road leading to Waalii Pa the car, which was driven by Mr. Alexander Patterson, of Huntly South, came into collision with a special goods train from Huntly to Glen Afton. The car was carried along the line' to the cattle-stop and was damaged beyond repair. Mr. Patterson was not injured and Mr. J. Lowden, who was the only passenger, received two broken ribs. After receiving attention from Dr. E. G. Loten, the injured man was taken to the Waikato Hospital.
