Onchunga .. 12.00 GENERAL SITUATION Ihe Government meteorologist advised last evening that the main control of the meteorological situation was being exercised by an anti-cyclone which was almost stationary over the Dominion. W oak depressions were located east of Auckland and in the south Tasxnan Sea. Forecast: Winds light and variable over most of the country, hut m northern and north-eastern portions of the North Island moderate southerlies. Seas slight or moderate. Weather continuing fine and settled over the greater part of the country. Some showers at first, however, in the Gis-borne-Bay of Plenty area. Temperatures rising slowly.
