CROQUET COMPETITIONS
Whangarei.—The club held a progressive tournament, at which there was a large gathering of members of the Whangarei and adjacent clubs. In the A division .Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Council tied, Mrs. Smith winning the play-off. Mrs. Masscy (Kensington) won in the B division. Two competitions were held, Mrs. Xisliet winning one and Mrs. Haywood the other. The club's B championship was won by Mrs. Guuthorpe. The stars were retained by Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Marshall, who defeated Mrs. Walker and Mrs. O. Harrison. while Mrs. Cleverly and Mrs. Haywood retained the brooches in a match with Mrs. Wool ley and Mrs. ('aider.
