RUAKURA STATION WORK [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Saturday Tn his report at the c|narterly meeting of the Ruakura Kami Advisory Committee, Mr. P. "W. Smallfield. superintendent of the Ruakura Animal Research Station, said I hat "10 students attended the two shearing classes held at the farm recently. At present there were 4056 sheep on the farm, including I7i'o crossbred owes, 112 Southdown ewes, ]903 Intuits and IPS other sheep, while of the cattle 152 of the 407 were cows in milk. There were also 302 pigs on the farm. Mr. Smallfield said the weather had been very favourable for grass growth, but rain had delayed the shearing in early November. A total of 50 acres had been cut for silage. .Root crops had just been sown, while a total of 450 lambs had been despatched to the works during the first week in December.
