CIVIC FAREWELL
LORD GALWAY'S VISIT r * 55 ORGANISATIONS JOINING In addition to the Auckland City Council and all local bodies in the metropolitan area, 55 other organisations are co-operating in the civic farewell which is to be tendered the Governor-General, Viscount Gahvav, and Lady Gahvav in the Town Hall on Wednesday night. Arrangements' initiated by the City Council have met with a spontaneous response throughout the city, and it is expected that the gathering will be very largely attended bv representatives of these organisations and by the general public. During the gathering an illuminated farewell address, which has been prepared on a metropolitan basis, is to be presented to Viscount Gahvav by the Mayor of Auckland, Sir Ernest Davis. A musical programme is to be given at intervals.
