Gayer Parcels
J\J"O matter how small your Christmas gifts they will be improved by gay wrappings and bright cards and labels. With paints and a few pieces of white card or drawing paper you can make these yourself and I am sure mother would be delighted if you gave her a
set of painted cards to tuck into her own gift parcels. Choose coloured or fancy paper for wrappings and oddments of coloured cord and ribbons for tieing them. A Christmas parcel must look very different. from an everyday one. Lantern cards are always pretty and you can use the gayest paints in your box to
tint them. Candles, too, are simple to draw, yet very bright and attractive. The old English lantern is really Christmassy, also. Try to think out other original designs of your own. Birds of all colours make very quaint message cards. To make these just draw a simple outline of a bird with outstretched wings and cut all around the lines with a sharp pair of scissors. Write your Christmas wishes on the bird and finish it with a piece of tinsel ribbon or cord tied around the neck. —Pamela.
