A few days later the Mayor of Birmingham received a letter from this same young man. "With a Vengeance" When the mayor found that the letter was written in all seriousness, he passed it over to the Surveyor's Department, and asked them to deal with it sympathetically. As a result, the paving-stone was dulv removed by a couple of stolid

workmen ami taken to the young mmi's address in 11 horse and cart. The Corporation presented the bill ten shillings - which was promptly paid, and the paving-stone is now doubtless occupying i> place of honour in the voting couple's home. That "was love with a vengeance.
