INTOXICATED DRIVER
MAGISTRATE IMPOSES FINE A charge of being intoxicated while in charge of a motor-car at Otfthuhu was denied by James Henry Gannon, aged 36, motor driver and pump fitter (Mr. Goldstine), before Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., in the Otahului Police Court yesterday. Dr. V. D. Griffon said he had examined accused and formed the opinion that lie was unfit to drive a car. For tho defence, Dr. F. R. Lange said accused had completed several tests satisfactorily and the degree of intoxication was very slight. The magistrate said it was a mild case and a fine of £lO, with £2 Is costs, would bo imposed. Accused was disqualified from holding a driving licence for 12 months. He was allowed four weeks in which to pay the fine.
