HOUSEWIVES MEET

WORK OF ASSOCIATION MILK DELIVERY PROTEST Following expressions of dissatisfaction at the lateness of the present delivery of milk and the proposal to deliver to the gate only, a decision to hold a public protest meeting was made at the first annual meeting of the New Zealand Housewives' Association, held in the Farmers' Trading Company board room yesterday afternoon. It was considered the interests of the housewife were not being considered and that the service to the door was paid for in tho price of milk. Complaints at the quality of milk were also made, and it was stated that in some cases milk was not fit for consumption in the afternoon. Activities in many other matters were outlined in the annual report and in an address by the president, Mrs. R. B. Bartleet, who said she felt the first vear had been a great success, with the housewives of the Dominion now organised in a body recognised and accepted in every direction. It was decided to increase the number 011 the_ committee from 13 to 15, and to provide for thfr co-opting of a men's advisory committee. The following officers were elected: —• President, .Mrs. 11.
