THE ALL PURPOSES APPEAL NEARLY £250.000 IN SIGHT [by telkghaph—press association] WELLINGTON". Monday The first Dominion figures, in the £1,000,000 All Purposes Patriotic Fund appeal show that there is nearly £250.000 in sight which, considering that, with the exception of Otago and Southland, New Zealand is not yet fully under way, is considered by Mr. J. Abel, Dominion organiser, as quite satisfactory and showing that within the allotted period, ending about Easter, the full amount should be reached. Provincial figures include the following: Otago, £60,00(1; Auckland. £36.000; Canterbury, £25,000; "Wellington. £31,900; East Coast, £17,200; Southland. £8800; Hawke's Bay. £7400; Nelson, £5200; Taranaki, £3500; Marlborough, £2400; Westland, £2200.
