GENERAL SITUATION The Government meteorologist advised last evening that the deep depression west of Auckland had remained almost stationary and had decreased in intensity. Another disturbance was approaching across the eolith Tasman and pressure was low also to the east. -Forecast:; Winds rather variable at' first, southerlies gradually predominating, however, and the force becoming strong later in many places. Seas in New Zealand waters rather rough to rough north of East Cape.and Cape Egmo'nt, slight lo moderate elsewhere, later rising. In the eastern' Tasman fresh to strong south to south-west winds, and rather rough to rough seas. Weather unsettled, with rain at times in most districts, more particularly in central provinces. Moderate to cool temperatures.
