MILK ZONING
Sir, —The letter in Thursday's Herald by "Cow Cockie" perhaps explains the reason why we have so many impoverished farmers. "Cow Cockie ' suggests that in the past all milk-sup-plying dairy farms have been stocked with Jersey cattle. I am prepared to say that. 90 per cent of milk farmers run Holstcin or mixed herds —tho cows that give the milk. Anyway, why all tho moaning about milk zoning? For many years Wellington district farmers have supplied tho City Corporation with milk, and they in turn have handled all pasteurising and delivery for very nearly the whole of Wellington and suburbs. I don't think I have ever heard a complaint, about the standard of milk there, and certainly Wellington people do not seen; to bo wasting away tor lack of butterfat content. City Cocky.
