OBITUARY

MRS. E. PARTINGTON The death has occurred of Mrs. Elizabeth Lucy Partington, aged 78, of Wei Is ford. * Mrs. Partington was born at Birmingham and arrived in Auckland with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Giles Pardingtou. at the age of 11. It was literally the roadless north when she, accompanied her husband on a pioneering farm venture in the Wellsford district, where she had lived ever since. Mrs. Partington's memory is revered for her general service to tho community, especially in times of sickness when medical aid wns not at ready call, and when long journeys on horseback had to be made to bring aid to sufferers.

Atkin was a granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Elihu John Shaw, who arrived at Hokianga from England 102 vears ago and .later settled in the Northern Wairoa. Mrs. Atkiu's mother, Mrs. M. Collins, was born after her parents' arrival. Airs. Atkiu's birthplace was Auckland and her marriage took place in the city. Her husband was a member of the well-known coachbuilding firm of Cousins and Atkin, Mr. and Mrs. Atkin removed from Auckland to Pukckohe East 33 vears ago. Mr. Atkin died four year- later. Mrs. Atkin had since lived at Pukekoh'o East and Whangarata. She is survived by two sous and a daughter. There are 12 grandchildren and /four great-grandchildren.
