TEACHERS' TRAINING COLLEGE
Sir, —An emphatic protest should be made against the proposal to convert the Teachers' Training College into a military hospital, for such a change would be an irreparable mistake. This svar is being waged, among other reasons, to preserve our national institutions, but in a moment of thoughtlessness it is proposed to place the axe at the very root of our educational svstem. *
* No convincing reason has been advanced in support of this proposal. Every true citizen desires to interfere as little as possible with the smooth working of our primary school system, particularly during the war period. Surely it is not beyond the resources of the resoonsible authorities .to, even now ; build a hospital worthy of ; the sacrifice of our soldiers, without disorganising one of our most essential institutions. 3/2425.
