JOINERS' AWARD
APPEAL DISMISSED Judgment on an appeal against the decision of Mr. J. A. Gilmour, S.M., in connection with tho carpenters and joiners' awards has been delivered in the Arbitration Court by Mr. Justice Tyndall. The appeal was lodged by the Auckland branch of the union on behalf of workers employed on certain work in factories. . In dismissing the appeal, the judgment said the Court had inspected the actual operations and was satisfied the workers engaged - in glueing batten cores and glueing veneer to batten cores are not joiners and are not entitled to the rate of 2s 9}d an hour. The process involved in the appeal had been clearly and accurately described in tho magistrate's finding.
