DELAY TO SHIPPING

PROBLEMS AT GREYMOUTH [by telegraph —own correspondent] GREYMOUTH, Sunday Showery weather and rough seas on tho bar have combined to cause considerable delays to shipping at Greymouth this weok. Vessels loading timbor have boon much delayed by the rain, "and it is doubtful whether they can complete before to-night, whereas normally they should have sailed yesterday. There has been a continual break on the shoaling at the bar and oven with tho restricted draughts tho larger vessels have been bar-bound. Tho tides, however, are improving, and it was hoped to effect a clearance of tho port during tlio week-end.

Tho Gabriella is in tho roadstead and will berth when conditions moderate, while tho Titoki is also due to-night, and, unless there are departures, tho berthage accommodation will bo taxed and the Poolta, duo to-morrow, will liavo to bo diverted to Westport. Soundings this morning disclosed a, little additional shoaling on the bar, the depth at high water being 20ft.
