TIIE CLIPPER'S RETURN - Vr, NEW ZEALANDER'S FLIGHT FIRST THROUGH PASSAGE The first New Zealander to travel through to San Francisco by Pan American Airways' new South Pacific service will leave by the Honolulu. Clipper this morning. He is Mr. F. E. Dougall, of Wellington, who is making a brief business visit to America. Mr. Dougall is one of 12 passengers who will leave by the Clipper. The others include eight who arrived from Sydney by the Awarua yesterday. Tho list is as follows: —Mrs. Clara Adams, Dr. J. L. Jona, Messrs. M. H. Blom, C. Blumer, J. Day, W. J. Death, A. L. Simmons, T. S. Skilhnan, G. Taifc, T. M. J. Whiting. The Clipper -will carry about 3001b. of New Zealand mail and about 1451b. of New Zealand freight. There will also be a quantity of through mail and freight from Australia. Captain W. J. Barrows is in command of the Clipper, AWARUA FROM SYDNEY DEPARTURE AGAIN TO-DAY. RECORD PASSENGER LIST With 15 passengers, over 7601b. of mail and about 1001b. of freight, Tasinan Empire Airways' flying-boat Awarua, commanded by Captain J. W. Burgess, arrived from Sydney yesterday afternoon. The passengers included Mr. and Mrs. N. A. Naismith, Miss F. A. Bell, Dr. J. L. Jona, Messrs. A. E. Aldridge, M. H. Blom, W. J. Death, A. C. Lambert, A. L. Simmons, T. S. Skillman, G. Tait, T. Thye, S. Williams and M. J. Whiting. The Awarua will leave again for Svd« ney to-day, carrying the largest number of passengers ever booked..for a Tasman flight since the service-was inaugurated in April. Among the 17 passengers there will be several who,arrived at Auckland by Pan American Airways' Clipper from America on Thursday. Piloted by Captain Oscar Garden, the Awarua will also carry 3481b. of mail, including transit mail from America, and 901b. of freight. The passengers will be Mr. and Mrs. N. S. Alexander and two children, Mr. and* Mrs. L. Smith, Mrs. H. J. Cheeseman, Mrs. It. Stewart, Messrs. E. Wackett, F. -Cordall, F. J. Dwyer, V. Jurgens, C. X. McKay. K. Officer, J. A. Robertson, X. Kothfeld and F. Soto. The Awarua will return from Sydney to-morrow.
