Forecast: Light to fresh north-westerly •jto westerly winds predominating, but •a change "to moderate southerlies set■ting in in the tar south to-night and ■probably extending over the southern [half of the South Island during to- — morrow. Seas mainly slight or moderate, but rising somewhat in the laranaki Bight and about Cook and ' Foveaux Straits. Weather tair and liuld in eastern districts and in the Jsoith Island; unsettled 011 the west const ot the South Island, with some further -rain and showers, later extending up the west coast as far as Taranaki and up the east coast as far as Canterbury. Temperatures becoming cooler 111 ,the south.
