Childhood Dreams
l can see ihe clouds all banking In ihe far and distant west, All ashining with the sun's last rays As it sln\s down to rest; They are tinted with ihe sunset shades So delicate and fair. And a hush of perfect silence Breath through the evening air.
—Original sketch by Zena "Waygood (16). I oft wonder if beyond those clouds Is fairyland, so dear To the childish thoughts of yesterday That were for eoer near. If the coloured clouds are castles, Made of dreams, hoped to come true, And the sunlight is the happiness, For ever shining through. And when the sunlipht fadeth And the stars came peepin through, And the World is drenched with moonlight, Then tell me, is ii true That childish ears hear mafic That is never heard aloud, And do childish eyes see fairies , Peeping from behind each cloud? —Original, by Eleanor Milson (12), MJB.Gr.
