OHOPE BEACH DOMAIN

[from our own correspondent] WHAKATAXE, Friday The Whakatane County Council decided to give its approval to the formation of fi Domain Hoard at Ohope Beach. The question, of providing a children's karn-to-swim pool at the bencl,i had exercised the council since February, and, although the necessary finance had been collected by public subscription, the council would not grant permission for the construction of the pool on property controlled by it. The Domain Board, when formed, will have control of all reserves at Ohope, the area being approximately 200 acres. Residents at Ohope are enthusiastically backing the proposal.
