TAUPO LAND CLAIM

SUPREME COURT ACTION

I/Ogal argument was heard by Mr. Justice Fair in the Supreme Court yesterday in tlie case in which a Maori widow claims five and a-lialf acres of land at Taupo from the Crown. On bqhalf of the Crown, the claim was opposed by -Mr. V. R. Meredith and Mr. N. I. Smith, who asserted that the property was a Crown reserve. His Honor said ho would take time to consider his decision and give it in writing, so that counsel might consider what further steps might he necessary.
