GOVERNMENT MAJORITY GAINS IN DOUBTFUL SEATS GOOD MARGIN PREDICTED (Received September 2G, 11.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, Sept, 26 In tho Federal election the latest development is the good progress being made by Government candidates in doubtful seats, where tho distribution of preferences is favouring them in most of the 15 doubtful seats. It is now predicted that the Menzies Government will be returned with almost the same majority as in the last Parliament —42 seats to 32 —and a very slender majority of about three seats in the Senate.
