JOCKEYS' APPEALS
CONDITIONAL LICENCES THREE UPHELD BY JUDGES TWO OTHERS UNSUCCESSFUL [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION*] WELLINGTON, -Tuesday The result of the appeals by five joeke.vs against the decision of the executive committee of the New Zealand Racing Conference in granting them for the 1940-41 racing season three months' conditional jockeys' licences, to expire on October 31, 1940, was announced to-night.
The appeals of Percy Burgess, Arthm Ernest Didham and George Ronald Tattersall were upheld and the executive committee is to be directed to issue to them jockeys' licences to expire on July 31. 1941.
The appeals of William James Bro'jghton and Harold Norman Wiggins wore dismissed, and the judges have ordered that in each case £lO. the amount lodged in the appeal, be retained by the conference.
