i PHYSICAL WELFARE PLAN A statement that a major part of the organisation established under the Physical Welfare and Recreation Act is to bo used for the training of men enrolled for national service was made hy the Minister of Internal Affairs, tiie Hon. W. P.. Parry. Ho said that fresh plans, adapted to the needs of national service, were being completed hy the physical wellare hranch of his department, the personnel of which would he increased as the work proceeded. "Tile co-operation of the physical welfare staff with the National Service Department," lie added, "should result in splendid work "being done, especially when in these trving days good health and general fitness of the people are so essential."
