WHANGAREI NOTES
Over £155 was realised for the Relief of Distress Fund in a street collection in Whangarei on Friday last, while £B3 was made for tho Patriotic Fund at the weekly stall. Other functions for patriotic purposes have been organised by spinsters and bachelors of Tauraroa, tho Portland Women's Institute, a Whangarei business firm, the Mangapai Basketball Club, the Kiripaka-Glenbervie Women's Emergency Corps, Ruatangata residents and the Kensington Croquet. Club.
M rs. E. Wallace, of Auckland, is the guest of Mrs. A. Barriball, of Whangarei. Miss M. Nisbet, of Whangarei, is a visitor to Auckland, where she is the guest of Miss H. Packwood. Sister I. Reynolds, of the Napier Hospital staff, and Mrs. H. Barton, of Auckland, are tho guests of Mrs. T. E. Woodman, of Whangarei.
