SHEPHERD FOUND SHOT
EVIDENCE AT THE INQUEST [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] TAIHAPE, Tuesday The body of Ronald Charles Gardiner, aged 24, a shepherd employed 011 the Burridge Estate, at Moawhango, near Taihape, was found this morning in a water table near the men's living quarters. A shotgun was lying at deceased's feet and there was a shot wound in the head.
At the inquest to-day Frederick Leigliton, manager of the estate, said that deceased was inclined to be nervy at periods. * Letters written by deceased to his father and fiancee revealed that lie was extremely worried about his health, and feared that when he married lie would be unable to support his wife. The inquest was adjourned.
