SHOOTING ACCIDENT
EVIDENCE OF BOY'S COUSIN DID NOT KNOW GUN WAS LOADED [by telegraph—owx correspondent] KAWHIA, Monday An inquest was opened at Kinohaku to-day, before Mr. G. G. Jonathan, coroner, into the death of Douglas Schultz, aged 14, who died at Ivinohaku yesterday as a result of a gunshot wound in the back. Evidence was given by William Turner, a cousin of the dead boy, that he was handling a small calibre shotgun which he did not know was loaded. It was accidentally discharged and the contents of thei charge struck Schultz. The inquest was adjourned.
