KEWPIE'S JEWEL SOLD MAH JONG RETURNS NORTH TRANSFER OF NAWTON PARRISH [BY TELEGRAPH —FROM ABAYDOS] PALMERSTON NORTH, Monday Two Auckland pacers, Nawton Parrish and Kewpie's Jewel, went on to Cliristchurch after racing at Hutt Park on Saturday. Nawton Parrish, who has beon in L. Mahonoy s stable sinco the August meeting at Epsom, did not race up to expectations in the Wellington Handicap, fading out after being prominent for about seven furlongs. Ho was taken over after the race by D. Bennett. • When Kewpie's .Towel finished second in tho Railway Handicap it was her last raco for Mr. J R. Henderson, she having been purchased by the Hon. P. C. Webb, to tako delivery after tho race. Kewpie's Jewel, who ran a splendid raco, was turned out in good condition by R. Dunn, and was well handled by A. W. Broughton. She registered 3.20 1-5 from 3.34. although Rho had no chanco with the winner. Gold Bar. Mah Jong did not raco at Hutt Park, but sho was brought up by J. Bryce and handed over to her owner, Mr. E. J. Parkes, who is returning the'roan mare to ,7. T. Paul. Man 'Jong had only one race in the South Island, where her poor display indicated she was far from being right. Mr. Parkes stated that on her present mark Mah Jong would have as many opportunities in Auckland as in tho South, and tho Rowe Memorial Cup in December should suit her. A maiden pacer to attract more than ordinary interest was Ardglass. a big nve-vear-old by Wrack from Pearl Pointer. Ho went close to beating Neutrality in the Rharpc Handicap, and improved to defeat Gold Chief in the Hutt Park Trial, registering 3.20 3-5 . Off 3.43. A stablemato of Ardglass, All Gallant, by Gallant Knight from Nyallo, revealed rare speed. Durato, whose only previous experience was at an Auckland matinee meeting, ran creditably. He is by Rjnertrue from Intaglio, the dam of Free Advice, and is owned by Mr. R. G. Laurie. Auckland. Durato is in R. B. Berry's stable. . Owing to the Wanganni racecourse being used for military purposes the Trottintr Club will not be able to hold its next meeting at home and is endeavouring to make other arrangements. Members of the executive conferred with the Wellington Trotting Club committee on Saturday with a view to racing at Hutt Park. Tho proposal la to bo considered.

ADDINGTON NOTES KENWORTHY IMPROVING [from our own correspondent] CHPISTCHURCH, Monday Although possessing sufficient speed to win races, Chudic has not performed creditably as a trotter in Canterbury, and after a period in C. S. Donald's stable he has been turned out. His owner is not likely to persevere with hi L - O. Thomas has Pilot Peter again in work but the trotter has shown signs of lameness and he will have to be trained carefully. He was spelled recently owing to soreness, and it does not seem that ho has made a great deal of progress. ... „„ Ivcnworthy appears certain to go on to better performances. During the short time he has been trained at Addington he has been responsible for outstanding track work and ho has given solid displays in each of his outings. Ho is a reliable pacer who appears to he improving all the time. , After being on the easy list for a long period, Colonel Axworthy, has been rccomnussloned bv V. Alborn. Although he comes to hand 'quickly, Colonel Axworthy is backward. ~ . , Solicitor went amiss after three races last season. He has been placed in work again, this time under J. Purdon's care, and he is making pleasing progress. A handsome horse by Jack Potts from Quality, Solicitor is highly regarded and he has the appearance to support his reputation. . The three-year-old filly by Gallant Knight from Worthy Queen in F. C. Dunlev.v's stable is being kept to the pacing gait and she is shaping well. She has a slight inclination to trot but tho easy manner in which she moves with the hopples on suggests that she will have little difficulty in developing into a speedy pacer. She is on the small side, but she has plenty of quality and carries herself well. She will race as Gallant Queen.
