"STUNT MERCHANT"
£IOO FEE FOR LEAP A film studio recently wanted a man to jump forty feet on to the roof of a truck eighteen- feet from the nearest wall of a house, but the leap was sar risky that only one "stunt merchant" could be found to undertake it. And he demanded £IOO • every time he launched himself into space. His name, was Loren Riebe. The studio decided that owing to the cost, there shoxilci be only one leap, and prepared to take it from every possible angle. _ Riebe stood on the sill outside a third floor window, and at the signal jumped for a marked cross on the truck. H'.3 landing was perfect,' and made impact while falling feet a second. Re suffered no sprains, bruises or other injuries, though he wcnt_ right throng the canvas top of the vehicle, which was packed with mattresses.
