WAIKATO RETURN OF £534 £4OOO IN RESERVE FUND [from OUR "OWN correspondent] HAMILTON, Thursday The sound financial position of the Waikato Winter Show -Association was referred to at a meeting of the association executive to-day, when an interim balance-sheet of the last show was presented. The secretarj r , Mr. W. H. Paul, reported that tho fixture had shown a turnover of £7166, including door receipts, £3060; space rental, £2539; entry fees, £605; rent, £462. The accounts showed a profit on the show of £534. The land and building reserve fund stood at £4OOO, and the cash in hand at £289. Assets had increased in value to £22,741. Members stated that, considering the war conditions, petrol restrictions and other factors, the profit was highly satisfactory. A donation of £IOO was received from Mr. W. Goodfellow, of Auckland, Js:2s to be devoted each year for four years to the first prize to bo competed for by secondary school boys attending the association's rural training course. The executive decided to place on record its appreciation of Mr. Goodfellow's generosity. It was decided to hold the show on six days next year, from May 27 to June 1.
