OBITUARY
MR. ROY IFWERSEN . The death occurred at Whakatane yesterday of Mr. Hoy Ifworsen, aged 41, second son of Mrs. M. M. Ifwersen and the late Mr. C. E. Ifwersen, of Parnell. When he was only IS he left on active service with the Auckland Regiment in the Great War. He was farming in the Papakura district until he joined the army. On his return from the war Mr. Ifwersen farmed land at Ramarama for some years, and then took up studies" at the Massev Agricultural College. About eight years ago he was appointed a Government herdtester and was stationed at Whakatane. He was a younger brother of Mr. Karl Ifwersen, the Auckland and New Zealand Rugby League representative. MR. JOHN RUDDY The death occurred at Te Han a, North Auckland, on Thursday, of Air. John Ruddy, an old colonist, who was in his youth a member of the New Zealand Armed Constabulary. Mr. Ruddy, who was 87, came to New Zealand from Bombay in the troopship Light Brigade, which arrived in 1864. He afterward served in the Armed Constabulary under Colonel Lyons. For a number of years he was caretaker of the Ellerslie Racecourse. He was a member of the Masonic fraternity and had been associated with Lodge Manukau and the Whakatane Lodge.
