TRANSFER TO FARMS [by telegraph —OWN correspondent] ROTORUA, Friday Addressing members of tho. RotoruaNgongotaha brnncli of the Farmers Union, the placement officer for the Bay of Plenty, Mr. L. H. Armstrong, stated that of 680 employees of tho Public Works Department, Lands and Survey Department and Stato Forest Service in tho Bay of Plenty, 206 had been selected as suitable for farm labour. Of these 109 wore ready and willing to accept farm positions and 73 of them were experienced. Some 43 vacancies on farms had already been filled. In answer to a question Mr. Armstrong reminded a member that at harvest time labour would always be made available, and that in previous years many farmers had availed themselves of tho opportunity.
