"KISS ME"

POLICE RADIO COMEDY

Police cars in New York were sent out the other day to track down —a police car! And Americans s are still chuckling over the reason, writes a correspondent of a London paper. As the city's "radio cops" sat listening for crime reports, thej' were amazed to hear a man's voice whisper tenderly: "Kiss me, honey;" There followed the sound of a real "smacker." Then came the voice again: "Let me hold you tighter." All this over a wavelength that the police alone use! / The painful truth dawned on those at headquarters: an amorous "cop" was holding a petting ..party in his official car. "Get that-man!" was the immediate order. Five minutes later one of the searching cars found the offender drawn up at';the side of a country road, the cause of all the trouble still in his ma'rily embrace. He had forgotten to switch off his radio transmitter!
