THE PENSIONER'S MITE

Sir, —It gave me great pleasure to read in Wednesday's Herald the letter from "An Old-time Woman." It is the right spirit for these troublesome times, and when the war is won we will be glad to think our mite has helped somewhat. 1 may state that several old ladies where I reside have been putting 3d per week in a box since I started the suggestion, and quite a few pounds have been sent to the Patriotic Fund. I do hope this idea will now _ take effect more fully. As my friend rightly says, "-livery mickle makes a muckle." An Old-age Pensioner.
