JOCKEYS WARNED
SOME CLEVER BIDING CONDITIONS OF LICENCES STRICT SUPERVISION [BT TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION*] NEW PLYMOUTH, Thursday "A number of prominent New Zealand jockeys will find their wings have been clipped very considerably when the list of licences appears on August 1," said the Hon. J. McLeod, M.L.C., a member of tho executive of the New Zealand Racing, Conference, at the annual meeting of the Taranaki Jockey Club at New Plymouth to-night. "Although I am not going to say there has been a ramp going on, I may say both the executive and stipendiary stewards have felt there has been some 'particularly clever riding. These riders will realise they are under strong suspicions and that' the conditions of licences that will bo given to them will place them under strict supervision."
