SCHEME FOR 60 BEDS TEMPORARY BUILDING PLANNED - A temporary measure to relieve acute overcrowding at the Auckland Hospital has been adopted by the Hospital Board in a decision to erect a building near the shelters at the Auckland Infirmary to accommodate approximately 60 beds. The chairman of the board, Mr. Allan J. Moody, said last night that if there were no delays in obtaining the approval of the Health Department the building could bo available within a month or six weeks. Mr. Moody said the board's architect, Mr. R. L. Farrell. had been instructed to prepare the plans, and when they were completed .they would be sent to the department for approval. Details of design had not yet been decided, but it was intended that the structure should bo erected in purely temporary materials. The scheme was in addition to the plans for the erection of a six-storey chronic hospital block and a chest hospital at the' infirmary.
