MORNING WEDDING
McLELLAN—HALPIN BRIDE IN IVORY MOUSCELLE ATTENDANTS WEAR BLUE The marriage took place at St. Michael's Church, Bemuera, yesterday morning of the well-known Auckland pianist, Miss Theo Halpin, younger daughter of Mrs. and the late Major T. P. Halpin, of Remuera, and Mr. Erie Doig McLellan, younger son of Mr. W. McLellan and the late I\lrs. McLellan, of Eastbourne, Wellington. Nuptial Mass was celebrated, the Rev. Father Bradley officiating. The organist was Mrs. Worthington, and a hymn was sung by Mrs. H. McLellan, for whom Mr. McLellan played the flute obligato. 'Cello music was also played by Miss Marjorie Tiarks.
The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. L. G. Halpin, wore a lovely gown of ivory French silk embossed mouscelle. The neckline was finished with a small Peter Pan collar and tiny velvet buttons, similar buttons defining the waistline. The skirt was fashioned to form a semi-train and over this fell the long flowing tulle veil from a pleated coronet ornamented with orange blossom. She carried an arm shower of lilium langifloruin and white cyclamen. In attendance as bridesmaids were Miss Peggi Cruickshank, Miss Belle McLellan, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Joyce McKean, who wore frocks of cornflower blue moire taffetas with tight-fitting bodices finished with tiny Peter Pan collars and short puff sleeves, and full skirts falling from a bustle bow at the back of the waistline. Small Juliet caps of cornflower blue velvet flowers were worn, and each attendant carried arm showers of scarlet anemones and gerberas. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. David Anderson as best man, and Mr. Robert Simmers and Alfred Boyce as groomsmen. Following the ceremony a reception was held in the Milne and Choyce Reception Hall, where Mrs. Halpin received her guests wearing a black embroidered crepe de chine frock, a black fur-trimmed coat and a black hat. She carried a bouquet of cyclamen and pink carnations. Mrs. E. N. Rishton. aunt of the bridegroom, who assisted, wore a grey striped costume and matching hat, and carried a bouquet of freesias, chrysanthemums and violets.
